St. Yared's Cross to return to EOC |

Addis Ababa, June 2, 2009 (Addis Ababa) - St. Yared's Cross, which was kept by individuals for 18 years in Paris, France, is to return to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church (EOC) on Wednesday. The cross was taken from Tanna Kirokos monastery during the Derg regime. The cross will be returned to the church in the presence of Patriarch of the EOC and President of World Council of Churches, Abune Paulos, senior government officials and ambassadors, the Church synod office told ENA in a statement A book written in English on protection of heritages and historical sites would be inaugurated on the occasion. ---END--- |
