Gondar University graduates over 3400 students
Gondar, July 25, 2009 (Gondar) - Gondar University in Amhara State on Saturday graduated over 3400 students trained in regular and continuous programs.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, university president Dr. Mengesha Admasu said 19 of the graduates received training in postgraduate program. Some 46 others graduated from medical faculty as general practitioners.

The president said percentage of the total female students in university has reached 20 percent. Some 697 of this year's graduates are females.

The university has been building capacity to enroll more students and attain quality of education. It is making preparation to open education and agriculture faculties in the coming academic year.

Dr. Mengesha said the university has launched implementation of Business Process Reengineering to attain quality of education and deliver efficient service.

Handing over awards to outstanding graduates, Addis Ababa University President, Professor Andreas Eshete said the growth in number of higher learning institutions will contribute a lot to speed up the ongoing development endeavors of the nation.

He urged the graduates to contribute in the ongoing efforts to speed up development in the country.
