Chiro, July 4, 2009 (Chiro) - More than 50,000 people have been participating in community conversation on HIV/AIDS in various parts of Hararge Zone, the Zonal Health office said.The community conversation is being held in 12 Woredas and towns of the Zone, coordinator with the office Seyoum Demissie told ENA on Friday.
He said awareness raising education on the pandemic was offered to close to 66,000 students at various schools.
Publications on HIV/AIDS were distributed with a view to further enhancing the anti-AIDS activities.
The coordinator said relevant training was also provided to health extension workers, teachers and development agents, among others.
Some of the people said the community conversation would contribute a lot in the efforts being made to control the spread of HIV/AIDS.
