Court hears testimonials of another 16 prosecution witnesses on suspects of terrorist plot
Addis Ababa, July 1, 2009 (Addis Ababa) - Another sixteen prosecution witnesses gave testimonials before the Federal High Court that looks into the cases of Brigadier General Tefera Mamo et.al, who were accused of planning terrorist act masterminded by the self styled ‘Ginbot 7’ team.

Most of the witnesses that appear before the court today were also observers while houses of the suspects were searched by the police. They told the Second Criminal Bench that the police started the search after showing search warrants and got permission from the respective suspects.

The witnesses confirmed observing AK-47 assault rifles, hand grenades, daggers, satellite telephone apparatus, Compact Discs, personal computers, USB cables, cameras, documents, and the Map of Ethiopia in the houses of the suspects.

After the search, the suspects signed confirming that the listed items uncovered during the search belong to the suspects, the witnesses added. The witnesses also gave responses to the cross –examinations of the defense lawyers.

The court will be hearing additional prosecution witnesses on 02 July 2009. It is to be recalled that the court heard testimonials of 16 prosecution witnesses on Tuesday.
