Meles lays cornerstone for new University in Hosa'ena
Hossana, February 28, 2009 (Hossana) - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi laid a cornerstone on Saturday for the construction of a university in Hosa'ena town, Hadiya zone of South Ethiopia Peoples’ State.

The university will be constructed in Ambicho Gode kebele in Limo Woreda.

The construction of the university will be launched next year on 200 hectares of land.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Meles said the university would not only help expand education but also contributes its share in speeding up the development of Hosa'ena town.

The State Administration Chief, Sheferaw Shigute for his part said the university, the 7th in the region, will be instrumental in producing skilled human power.

Government officials and residents of the locality were in attendance at the ceremony.
