Foreign Ministry Striving to Attract Ethiopians In Diaspora To Participate In All-rouind endeavor
Addis Ababa, December 24, 2009 (Addis Ababa) - Foreign Affairs Minister, Seyoum Mesfin said his ministry has been working to attract Ethiopians in Diaspora to participate in all round development endeavor.

Seyoum made the statement while answering questions raised by members of parliament concerning the activity of the ministry during the 13th regular session of the federal parliament.

Seyoum said his ministry has been working to attract Ethiopian nationals living abroad to participate in all-round development endeavor in the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been striving to get Ethiopians in Diaspora to contribute their share in the peace and development endeavor well under way in the country.

Seyoum said the ministry has been facilitating to those potential diasporas to invest in Ethiopia.

Thanks to the unstinted efforts made by the Ministry, investors with an aggregate capital of 17 billion Birr has been shelled out by Ethiopians in Diaspora.

The investment projects have created job opportunity to 86,000 people, Seyoum mentioned.

Similarly, Health Minister, Dr. Tewdros Adhanom told the House that on his part that 84 per cent of work on the construction of 3,200 health facilities is expected to be finalized by the end of this year.

He said the construction of the health facilities is fully funded by the federal government.

Meanwhile, the house has approved minutes of its 12th regular session in its today’s meeting.
