Addis Ababa, May 25, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - Some of the alleged terrorists that blew a minibus taxi with an explosive on 20 May 2008 in Addis Ababa City were put under custody, the Joint Anti-terror Taskforce of the National Intelligence Security Service and the Federal Police announced.According to a statement issued by the taskforce on Sunday, the bomb blast occured in a minibus taxi, which was heading to Lagar from Arat Kilo, killed six passengers and injured seven others.
The statement disclosed that evidences indicate that the terrorist act was coordinated by the Eritrean regime and the anti-peace group ‘Oromo Liberation Front’ (OLF), which is instrument of the regime.
The alleged criminals were arrested following tips from the public and strengthened efforts of security forces.
The task force called on the public to strengthen support in the efforts to put under control remaining terrorists.
It also called on the public to continue working jointly with security forces in the efforts to maintain peace and security and abort the destructive acts of anti-peace forces.
The taskforce also urged the public to inform security forces calling telephone numbers 991,916,987 and 945 whenever they become suspicious of individuals and happenings in particular in market places, hotels, recreation centers, filling stations and big buildings, among others.
