Addis Ababa, May 12, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - Investment Authority of Addis Ababa City administration said it has issued licenses to 1450 investment projects with an aggregate capital of over 12 billion birr during the past nine months.The projects are in the areas of industry, construction, real-estate, education, health, and hotel, among others, investment promotion team leader with the authority, Abraham Fanta told ENA.
The plan was to issue licenses to 750 projects during the reported period.
Efficient service delivery system designed by the office helped to increase the number.
The projects will create nearly 40,000 jobs when they fully go operational.
The authority has been exerting efforts to attract Ethiopian Diasporas to launch investment at home.
