Addis Ababa, May 10, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - Japanese Ambassador to Ethiopia Kinich Komano said people to people relation of the two nations is adding momentum particularly in the new millennium.The Ambassador made the remark while the embassy celebrated Boy's Day Festival with the presence of invited guests and Japanese community here on Saturday.
Ambassador Komano told ENA that the relation is bearing fruits and underlined that the two countries are still working to further scale up their existing relations.
The embassy has been celebrating the Ethiopian millennium for the last one year with various events, while the Boy's day celebration is part of the year long events being organized by the embassy.
Japanese use Boy’s Day to indoctrinate the young generation to make disciplined, nation loving generation as well as to reserve the cultural and values of their ancestors.
Ambassador Komano said the day is being celebrated in commemoration of the renowned Japanese artist Fumio Mizuno who died 40 years ago.
More than 200 replicated paintings prepared in the form of a book were displayed on the occasion.
Ethiopian and Japanese cultural music were played during the event.
