Addis Ababa, March 12, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - The ever growing cultural and people-to-people tie between Ethiopia and Japan has laid a firm foundation for economic and political relations between the two countries, Japanese Ambassador to Ethiopia said.In an exclusive interview with ENA on Wednesday, Ambassador Kinichi Kumano said that the effort being made by Japanese and Ethiopian Embassies is laying a foundation for the economic and trade relations between the two countries.
As the two countries have similar cultural values, further scaling up the people-to-people tie between the two countries would help bring mutual benefits, the Ambassador said.
The two nations should strive for development by properly exploiting human resources, according to the Ambassador.
The Embassy has been exerting continuous efforts to lay the cultural and people-to-people ties of the two countries in a firm foundation in connection with the Ethiopian Millennium celebration.
The Japanese cultural programs being organized here in Ethiopia shows that the country has rich cultural values.
Similarly, the Ethiopian Embassy in Japan is also organizing similar programs to promote Ethiopian culture to Japanese, he added.
The Ambassador said that the two countries have also plan to establish an integrated farmers' foundation in a bid to create development cooperation that is based on mutual understanding.
