Addis Ababa, March 9, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - The World Metrological Organization (WMO) is to implement two projects that would enhance the weather prediction capability and metrological data management of the National Metrological Agency of Ethiopia (NMA), Representative of Sub Regional Office for Eastern and Southern Africa with WMO, Steven Njoroge said.According to the bi lingual quarterly bulletin prepared by the public relation services with the NMA Assistance Secretary -General of the WMO, Jeremiah R.D. Lengoasa paid a working visit at NMA, recently.
During the visit, Njoroge said WMO has allocated money to support two projects that would enhance weather predictability capacity and meteorological data management system of the agency.
NMA’ Director General Kidane Assefa on his part expressed his gratitude for the support and said the realization the projects would be great help in supporting the socio economic activities of the country.
Kidane said the agency has made consultative meeting with consultants from the Finland government on the projects which would be financed by the Finish government under the Volunteer Country Program (VCP).
During his visit, Lengoasa appreciated the NMA's activities to support the Scio-economic activities of the nation and confirmed that WMO would extend its support to the agency.
