Ethiopian Graduates 18 Pilots
Addis Ababa, June 17, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - The Ethiopian Aviation Academy graduates 18 trainee pilots here on Tuesday who have completed a two-year commercial pilot training in Instrument and Multi-engine Ratings.

Some 12 of the graduates are sponsored by Ethiopian while the remaining six are Chadian pilot trainees.

The graduates have taken a two-year training comprising of one thousand hours of class instructions and 250 hours of practical flight training.

Today’s graduates bring the total number of pilots from the Academy to 822 since its inception in 1964, of which 522 are Ethiopian nationals while the remaining from different countries of Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

The academy trains pilots, aircraft technicians, cabin staff and other professionals.
