President Girma receives leave of Gambian Ambassador
Addis Ababa, February 27, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - President Girma Woldegiorgis said that Ethiopia and Gambia should further strengthen their relations. The President here on Wednesday received leave of Gambian Ambassador to Ethiopia and the African Union, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray.

President Girma said Ethiopia and Gambia have strong relations, said. Hence, he said, the two sistelry countries should exert efforts to further strengthen their relations.

According to a senior official of the Ministry Foreign Affairs, who attended the discussion President Girma expressed gratitude to the ambassador for his effort of strengthening relations between the countries.

The ambassador Dr. Omar Alieu Touray told journalists that he has drawn a lot of experience and lessons during his stay in Ethiopia for the last six years.

Several activities were undertaken to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries, he said.

The ambassador said his country is keen to further bolster the relations with Ethiopia.
