During their duty tour in Ethiopia, the two officials have planned to meet the press and give briefing on the PSOM, the Dutch Program for Cooperation with Emerging Markets, the Embassy told ENA on Friday in a statement.

The PSOM is a program initiated by the Minister for Development Cooperation of the Netherlands in order to alleviate poverty through cooperation between the Dutch businesses and Businesses selected countries around the globe with a focus on private investments

The program has been in place in Ethiopia since 2003 after the signing of a MoU between the governments of the Netherlands and Ethiopia. Since then over two dozen of joint venture projects have succeeded in securing a grant to the tune of over 10 million Euro.

At the initial stage the PSOM focused on the development of horticulture/floriculture sectors, it said.

Since 2006 however, and upon an agreement between the two countries, it has been decided to cover all areas of business endeavors.
