Federal Police lauds public in connection to peaceful conclusion of AU Summit
Addis Ababa, February 3, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - Federal Police lauds the public for its contributions in connection to the successful conclusion of the 10th ordinary summit of the African Union (AU).

Briefing journalists here on Sunday, Director General of the Federal Police Workenehe Gebeyehu said public cooperation in relation to hosting the summit and in reception of guests in Addis Ababa was quite commendable.

The public has been showing remarkable patience whenever there were traffic congestions various parts of the city during the course of the summit.

Though Addis Ababa hosted over 3,000 guests, no traffic accidents or other crimes occurred during the course of the summit, he said.

In fact, he said, the police force made necessary preparations for the successful conclusion of the summit.

Moreover, hotels and other pertinent bodies were working together with the police, he said, the public should uphold such cooperation and the culture of hosting guests in the future.
