Investors in Bahir Dar receive plots of land to launch floricultural, horticultural development projects
Bahir Dar, August 4, 2008 (Bahir Dar) - Some 10 investors received plots of land to launch floricultural and horticultural development activities around the Bahir Dar City of the Amhara State, Trade and Industry Development Bureau disclosed.

The bureau said on-going activities in the area indicated that the regional government will begin exporting flower within the current Ethiopian fiscal year.

The entrepreneurs received 646 hectares of land to launch floricultural and horticultural development projects in the vicinity of the city, public relations department head with the bureau, Aynalem Belete told ENA.

Especially, he said, some of the business enterprises namely; Ethio Agri Safety, Tana Flower, Tesfa Flower, and Jovani Alfaro have begun preparations to launch the investment projects.

According to the head, area around Bahir Dar City is found to be suitable for floricultural development activities since the ‘Bahir Dar Ginbot 20 Airport’ has already begun serving international flights.
