Ethics, Anti-Corruption Commissions established in six States
Addis Ababa, August 1, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - The Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (FEAC) said it has been providing all the necessary support to Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commissions established in six States.

Ethics Infrastructures Coordination Department Director with FEAC, Hailu Berhe told ENA on Friday that the commissions were established in Oromia, Amahara, Tigray, Beneshangul-Gumuz, Gambella and the South Ethiopia People's State.

The Commission has been providing to the support to the commissions with a view to enabling them to discharge their responsibility efficiently.

The Benishangul-Gumuz State has assigned a Commissioner to the institution while similar commissions set up in Gambella, Amhara, Tigray, the South Ethiopia People's and Oromia States have already begun operation.

The Addis Ababa City Administration and Harari State are also expected to establish their own Commissions this year.

The Director said the Commissions established in the States have so far registered encouraging results.

Hailu said a joint-forum was established in accordance with the agreement reached by the Federal and various regional governments commissions.
