Court sends Former Immigration Official To Two Year Behind Bar
Addis Ababa, April 15, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - The Federal High Court sentenced former immigration official convicted of corruption to a two year prison term, the Federal Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission said. It also sent a woman it found guilty of attempting to leave the country with a forged passport.

The Commission told ENA on Tuesday that the Court passed the sentence on Former Bole Immigration Department Head Engidawork Tegegn and Hanna Gebre-kiristos after it found him guilty of taking a 5000 Birr graft from the second convict in return to let her leave the country changing her name.

The second convict was convicted of traveling with fake passport and giving a bribe to the first convict.
