University sets up anti HIV/AIDS committee
Awassa, April 11, 2008 (Awassa) - The Hawasa University in South Ethiopia Peoples' State announced that it has set up a committee to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS.

University President, Dr. Admassu Tsegaye, spaking at a meeting held on Thursday said that the committee was established win a view to combating the spread of the pandemic among the university community.

The newly set up committee comprises officials of the university and the students' council.

As the anti HIV/AIDS carried out at the University over the past four years lacks integration and continuity, it failed to bring about tangible results in the battle against the pandemic.

Participants of the meeting underlined on the need for giving the necessary attention to students' discipline as well as provision of voluntary counseling and testing service to students.
