Addis Ababa, April 4, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - A book containing studies and researches conducted on the ongoing poverty reduction and sustainable development program of Ethiopia was made official here on Friday at a workshop on "Assessment of Poverty Reduction Strategy in Sub-Saharan Africa: The Case of Ethiopia."Delegate of Resident Representative of African Development Bank, Eskendir Alemseged on the occasion said the book contains study articles presented and enriched at a previous workshop.
The book, published in collaboration with the Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA) would be distributed to governmental and public libraries.
The Bank would provide support to similar research activities, the representative said.
The findings of studies on this issue were presented on a workshop organized by OSSREA on 3rd October 2005.
It was in September 2003 that the African Development Bank financed an OSSREA research on "Assessment of Poverty Reduction Strategies in Sub-Saharan Africa" in six countries, namely, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia.
The present workshop is on the book published by OSSREA concerning Assessment of Poverty Reduction Strategies in Sub-Saharan Africa: the case of Ethiopia.
