Ethiopian millennium celebrated in Leipzig
Addis Ababa, September 27, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - The new Ethiopian millennium was celebrated colorfully in Leipzig City, Germany, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Leipzig residents, Ethiopian Ambassador to Germany, citizens, persons from Ethiopian origin, and friends of Ethiopians attended the celebration, according to the statement of the ministry sent to ENA on Thursday.

Speaking at the event, which was organized by friends of association of the Addis Ababa and Leipzig Cities, mayor of that city expressed his contentment over the successful celebration of the millennium.

Ethiopian Ambassador to Germany, Kassahun Ayele on the occasion said the Ethiopian government and its people have registered encouraging economic growth during the last four successive years.

The ambassador urges the people and government of Germany on the occasion to back up Ethiopia’s efforts toward bringing about rapid economic growth and social progress.

An art exhibition, national traditional cuisines, and Ethiopian coffee ceremony were displayed on the occasion, the ministry said.
