WHO to hold stakeholder forum on household water management in Addis
Addis Ababa, October 26, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - The World Health Organization (WHO) is holding an International Stakeholder Forum on Household Water Management on October 29-30, 2007 in Addis Ababa.

The forum is the first ever country level meeting of the International Network to promote Household Water Treatment and safe storage in Ethiopia.

The forum has a goal to reduce water born disease by building and scaling up existing household water management activities and harmonizing with national water, sanitation and hygiene strategies drawing on country-level experiences as a means to accelerate effective action in other countries.

The meeting is an important opportunity to advocate, raise awareness and increase commitment for scaling-up household water treatment and water quality interventions to contribute to the achievement of the government of Ethiopia’s Universal Access Plan (UAP) goals, WHO said.
