Axum, October 24, 2007 (Axum) - A temporary museum was being constructed in Axum Town, Tigray State with a view to promoting historical and religious relics of the country , Head of the Axum Tsion St. Mary Church said.The head told ENA that the number of tourists visiting the town has been increasing during the new Ethiopian Millennium.
The museum, which is being constructed at a cost of over 400,000 Birr, would contribute its share in the efforts to promote the relics and ensure the renaissance of Ethiopia.
A grand museum would be constructed in the future in collaboration with the government and the church, the head said.
