Addis Ababa, October 14, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - 'Mulege', one of the coffee exporters in the country, said it has secured 43 million US dollars from the export of coffee during the past Ethiopian year.

Owner and General Manager of the company, Mustafa Awol told ENA on Sunday that the company secured the stated amount of revenue from export of 18,000 tons of coffee to Europe, Asia, and North American countries.

Mustafa said the amount of coffee exported by the company constitutes some 15 percent of the total amount of nation coffee export made during the reported time.

He said the amount of coffee exported this year exceeded the export of the previous year of the same period by 2,000 tons.

The owner attributed the success to coffee price improvement in the international market and the attention attached to production of quality of coffee on the part of the government.

According to the owner, the company has been providing technical and professional support to coffee growers with a view to boosting the demand of Ethiopian coffee in the global market.

He called on executive bodies to further strengthen assistance to coffee growers and coffee exporters for the same cause.
