Mekele, November 17, 2007 (Mekele) - Three Israeli experts offered training in bee keeping to 120 farmers in Tigray state. The training organized in collaboration with the Israeli government was conducted in Hawzen town. The training focused on the application of modern bee keeping techniques enabling farmers generate better income through boosting honey and wax produces.
Speaking at the conclusion of the training, Israeli ambassador to Ethiopia Yaakov Amitai said the training was offered to the farmers in accordance with the agreement signed between Ethiopia and Israel.
He said an Israeli expert would be deployed to the area to provide technical assistance for two years to the farmers.
The ambassador said his government has been supporting development endeavors in Ethiopia.
