Prof. Kinfe Abrham passes away
Addis Ababa, November 9, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - The late Prof. Kinfe Abrham, who was President of Ethiopian International Institute for Peace and Development (EIIPD), passed away late Thursday at the age of 57 due to natural causes.

The late Kinfe was receiving medical treatment at Armed Forces General Hospital for two days before his departure, assistant of the deceased, Iyasu Solomon told ENA on Friday.

The departed, who was born in Adwa town of Tigray State on 20 Oct. 1950, was an economist, educationalist, diplomatic and political historian with Graduate and PhD Degrees from several European and US universities.

The late Kinfe worked at various institutions at higher posts. For instance, he served as Bureau Director at Swedish International Development Authority (SIDA) during 1976-86, as Director General to Political and Humanitarian Affairs Division, IGAD during 1997-2000, and as Chief political Advisor to the IGAD since 1999 until his departure.

The funeral of the late professor will be held 10 Nov 2007 at around 12:00 AM local time at Saint Trinity Cathedral at the presence of senior government officials, diplomatic corps, representatives of international community, friends, and relatives.
