Meles arrives in Delhi to attend 4th International Conference on Federalism
Addis Ababa, November 4, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - A senior Ethiopian government delegation led by Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has arrived to New Delhi, India late on Sunday to attend the 4th International Federalism Conference.

Senior Indian government officials and members of the Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi warmly welcomed the Ethiopian delegation up on its arrival at the New Delhi International Airport.

Leaders of several countries including that of Africa, Europe and Asia, members of the Civil Society and scholars are expected to converge at the three-day conference entitled "Unity under Diversity-learning from Each Other".

The Ethiopian delegation includes House of Federation Speaker Degfe Bula, heads of Regional States, President of the Addis Ababa University, Professor Andreas Eshete and other senior government officials.

The three-day conference envisages promoting dialogue on the renewal and development of federalism and greater cooperation among practitioners in pursuit of good governance. This conference is being organized in partnership between the Government of India and the Forum of Federations, a Canada-based international forum of federal countries.

The earlier conferences were held in Canada 1999, Switzerland 2002 and Belgium 2005.
