Agency undertaking anti HIV/AIDS activities at 37 stations.
Addis Ababa, July 29, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - The Muslim Development Agency of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council said it is undertaking HIV/AIDS prevention and controlling activities at 37 stations in nine regional states.

Acting director of the agency, Abdulaziz Kemal told Ethiopian News Agency that the agency has designed a five year strategic plan and is working in the area of capacity building, provision of food, education and prevention and control of HIV/AIDS.

He said the agency, since its establishment 1992 E.C., has been working to bring attitudinal change in the fight against HIV/AIDS in all regions of the country except Gambella Stat.

The director said the agency is aggressively working to create awareness among the Muslim community about the pandemic.

The agency is exerting utmost effort to expand voluntarily counseling and blood testing service and is closely working with other religions and non governmental organizations.
