Addis Ababa, December 27, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - Ethiopian Millennium Harmony Run Torch Relay would take place here from December 29-30, 2008, the Ministry of Youth and Sport said.Starting from Addis Ababa City, the runners would meet in Awassa town after covering 275 kms, an official from the Ministry, Yoseph Daiemo said on Thursday.
Some 15 famous athletes would take part in the Torch Relay.
Preparations are well underway to enable students and public at large to provide moral support to the athletes.
The first day Relay would cover Addis Ababa, Dukem, Debrezeit, Mojo, Alem Tena, Meki and Ziway towns, while in the second day the runners would cover Bulbula, Arsi Negele, Shashemene and Awassa towns.
The athletes are expected to reach the final destination, Awassa on mid day Sunday.
The Relay aims at creating mutual coexistence and sense of unity among the public.
