Addis Ababa, August 31, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - Ethiopian Millennium Celebration Committee in the Sudan said it has begun various activities aimed at building the image of Ethiopia in that country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.In statement it sent to Ethiopian News Agency on Friday, the Ministry said football tournament, panel discussion, music festival and a program called Ethiopian Night are some of the promotion activities being carried by the Committee in the course of the millennium celebration.
Live TV transmission of the millennium celebration from Addis Ababa, trade, tourism and investment exhibitions are the other assortments to be undertaken by the Committee, the Ministry said.
The celebration of the Millennium began with football match among eight Ethiopian community clubs on August 30, 2007.
The Sudan police brass band played tune that added color to the event, the Ministry said.
Ethiopian ambassador to Sudan Ali Abdo expressed on the occasion success to the millennium celebration.
