S. Gondar licenses 100 million Birr investment projects
Addis Ababa, August 7, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - Investment projects with a combined capital of over 100 million Birr were licensed and entered construction phase over the past budget year in South Gondar Zone of Amhara State, Zonal Investment Department said. Department Coordinator, Gedefaw Worku told the Ethiopian News Agency on recently that investment projects with a combined capital of 16 million Birr entered into production phase.

The projects carried out in Debre Tabor and other ten woredas of the zone are in the fields of education, health, forestry, animal fattening as well as hotels and tourism, among others. They created more than 1,000 jobs.

The remaining projects worth 84 million Birr are being undertaken in various parts of the zone.

Various investment projects with an aggregate capital of 3.7 Billion Birr have been licensed over the last ten years.
