University to launch 14 new programs
Addis Ababa, August 2, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - Mekele University is to launch 14 new undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the coming academic year.

In a joint statement, university vice presidents said on Thursday the new programs to be launched soon would enable the university to boost its intake and to conduct various research studies.

Varies fields of study would be opened in the coming academic year under the Journalism Languages, and Art Faculty, which is the new faculty of the university, they said.

The university would also open new departments in the fields of petroleum engineering, mining engineering, psychology, public administration, development management, and nursing faculties in its undergraduate program.

The university would also begin offering training in law, business, and cooperatives in its continuing and distance education programs.

They said the university would commence offering training in business administration, development, and natural resource economy and other fields of study in its postgraduate program.
