Debremarkos, February 26, 2010 (Debremarkos) - Some 17 safe water facilities constructed in East Gojjam Zone, Amhara State at a cost of over 798,000 Birr have gone operational, zonal water resource branch office said.Safe water provision coordinator with the office, Andualem Beyene told ENA on Thursday that more than 3800 residents benefit from the facilities.
The facilities constructed in areas, which had no access to safe water service include, among others, digging of 12 water wells and development of five springs.
Meanwhile, the office has launched construction of safe water facilities at a cost of over 19 million Birr.
Construction of the facilities will be completed at the end of the current Ethiopian budget year, he said.
